A rescue friend got Peaches from a breeder in Georgia, but could not take care of his medical needs. So she contacted me to see if I would take him. He had a broken jawbone in two places, that I felt was caused when a vet tried to pull some teeth. Upon arrival in New York, Peaches went immediately to my vet. Since the bone started to heal, he felt it best to wait and see how he would adjust. In the meantime, we also consulted a specialist that rebuilds jawbones. After many exams and x-rays, the vets felt he did not have enough bottom bone to work with. Well, as you can see from the photos Peaches {who I affectionately call, "Sherman" i.e. Sherman Tank} never let anything stop him from eating and his jawbone healed and has not bothered him again.

Curly passed away on 10/30/05
Curly came from a Maryland shelter. He was wasting away, because he would not eat. He still has eating problems, but it isn't - not eating.....we cook chicken patties every day for Curly. Sometimes he will nibble on Solid Gold dog food, but he really only loves his chicken.

Itsy Bitsy was found wondering in the middle of the road in Long Island. She was covered in fleas and anemic. The shelter called me to take her, because they felt she needed vet care immediately. She cannot see good out of one eye and is elderly now, but still my darling little girl.

Pekachu is a long haired chihuahua-mix that came from CACC in NYC. Another rescue had taken her, but did not have transport and she was in a kennel. Patti went and got her out of the kennel and brought Pekachu to me. She is the smartest little dog and knows every word I say.

Kara came to me from a Long Island, NY shelter with both front legs broken. It took me almost a year of visits to the vet, for clean wraps, x-rays and medications. Today Kara runs around like nothing was ever wrong.
Gidget and Gucchi came all the way from Missouri. Gucchi was all ready neutered, but needed a dental badly ----- he had to have 24 teeth removed. Now he eats like a little piglet and is the tinniest darling little baby. Gidget was from a Pomeranian show breeder who gave her up to rescue. When I got Gidget spayed she had to have 14 teeth removed. They are both almost three years old now. I promised the rescue that got them for me, I would keep them together always. Oh, and I spell his name with an "H" = Gucchi!
